Teacher & CMS Cheer/CHS JV Cheer Coach
I graduated from Conroe High School in 1995 – but I am a Cleveland Indian at heart. Growing up I attended Southside Elementary, Northside Intermediate, Cleveland Middle School, and Cleveland High School until my Junior year when my parents divorced. While I was forced to change districts, I have never stopped being a Cleveland Indian. It was only natural for me to want to come home and teach at the school that was such a major part of my life.
When I started college my children were babies, so I had to get really creative to find ways to attend class, me a wife and a mother. I attended college at Lone Star College, University of Houston Downtown and finally completed my classes and graduated from University of Phoenix Online.
Bachelors of Science in Psychology, University of Phoenix
I began teaching at Cleveland Middle School last year in the ELAR department. This year I have chosen to expand my experience and tackle Geography and World Cultures.
I am a happily married lady to my high school sweetheart. We met right here in the halls of Cleveland Middle School (it was the high school back then) and we have been married for 23 years. I have 3 children. My step son, Chris, is 24 and lives in Livingston with his family. My oldest son, Dakota, will be 23 this year in November and lives in Conroe. The baby of the family is my 18 year old daughter, Brooklynn, who just graduated from Caney Creek High School and is enrolled at Lone Star College working toward her degree in education. She is also working for CISD at Eastside Elementary as a PE Instructional Aid.
I have worked in Cleveland ISD for 9 years! It’s crazy how fast the years go. I have been teaching for 6 years now, but started off in the district as a paraprofessional. I have taught elementary PE, computer lab, dyslexia services and even worked in the copy room for a year.
Sixth graders are my favorite! They have a little sass, but are always up for a challenge.
I love to read, work on the computer, and ride my Harley motorcycle with my husband. We are members of Bikers for Christ Motorcycle Ministry. I am also a long time member of the Girl Scouts of America. I have been a registered Girl Scout leader for 13 years now.
I am the Cleveland Middle School and Cleveland High School JV cheerleading coach. I work very hard with my teams to teach honor, respect for self and community, and the benefits of hard work. If you are interested in joining the CMS cheer team as a 7th grader – then I am the one to talk to!
But most of all, being at school with students is always my number one favorite thing to do!
