US History Teacher
I graduated from The Louise S. McGehee School in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1983. After getting married and raising six children, I received my Associate’s Degree in 2015 from Lone Star College and then graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2018.
Associates’s Degree from Lonestar College (Cum Laude)
Bachelor’s Degree from Sam Houston State University
This is my first year as a teacher and I will be teaching 8th grade U.S. History.
Prior to obtaining my degree and pursing alternative certification, I have been a paralegal for over 30 years. In addition, after graduating from Sam Houston in 2018, I worked as a substitute teacher with the New Caney Indepdendent School District. Additionally, my professors in college were aware of the fact that I wanted to teach after receiving my degree. Because of my desire to teach, I had several professors allow me to prepare the lesson and teach the students on several occasions. I believe this fueled my passion and dream to teach more than anything.
I married my husband, John, in 1996. We have six children – all of whom have already graduated from high school and college. I also have a 21 month grandbaby who is the joy of my life. We have two dogs, 25 cows and 2 miniature donkeys.
I love working in my garden and taking care of all of our ranch animals. When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family and friends.
